What started with a classic French cookie now runs the gamut when it comes to La Petite Bretonne’s selection of French-baked pastries and other sweet goods. Known for its Micro Croissants and Mini Choco pastries, the bakery was founded by Serge and Michele Bohec in 1966. It started with madeleines — the authentically French, sponge cake-style cookies shaped like a seashell.

Today, the company produces more than a dozen different varieties of sweet goods in its two Quebec bakeries. Although Mrs. Bohec passed away in 1988 at the young age of 35, her memory is lovingly enshrined on the company’s website and in the city of Blainville, QC. In fact, the bakery is located on an industrial boulevard named after Mrs. Bohec because of her dedication to the business community.

Their son, Dominic Bohec, vice-president of sales and marketing, expanded the family’s presence in the regional baking community. In 2015, he purchased Maison Isabelle and serves as president of the Trois-Rivières, QC, company, which produces cookies and sliced loaf cakes at its 25,000-sq-ft bakery.
