CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Snyder’s-Lance, Inc. has acquired substantially all the assets of O’Byrne Distributing, Inc., a snack food distributor serving the Augusta, Ga., area. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“We’re excited to expand our direct-store delivery (D.S.D.) distribution network in the Augusta, Ga., market with the addition of O’Byrne,” said Ed Good, president of S-L Distribution Co., a subsidiary of Snyder’s-Lance, Inc. “The strengths of O’Byrne provide a great way for us to improve the effectiveness of our D.S.D. network, expand service to customers and enhance long-term opportunities for our independent business owners in the region.”

O’Byrne operates a D.S.D. distribution system and distributes Snyder’s-Lance Inc.’s branded products as well as several additional partner-brand product lines. Snyder’s-Lance said O’Byrne routes will be integrated with the company’s D.S.D. network, providing a number of benefits, including the ability to better service retail partners with core branded products while leveraging supply chain and other efficiencies.
