COLLEGEDALE, TENN. — Sunbelt Bakery, a McKee Foods Corp. brand, has added Simple Granola cereal to its line of preservative free granola cereals. The new cereal includes whole grain oats and brown sugar, and it is considered an excellent source of fiber and iron.

“We are committed to giving consumers cereals that deliver a bakery-fresh taste and are completely preservative free,” said Jeff Badger, brand manager for Sunbelt Bakery. “Simple Granola does that, and is perfect for eating by the handful, in a bowl with milk, or on top of yogurt.”

In addition to Simple Granola, other cereals in the Sunbelt Bakery cereal line include banana nut, fruit and nut, and low fat. Each of the four cereals is available at a suggested retail price of $2.79.

The granola cereals are the first line of products to take on the new Sunbelt Bakery name, logo and brand packing that is phasing in throughout 2012.

“Sunbelt Bakery is still the same family-owned bakery it has been for over 30 years,” Mr. Badger said. “We simply decided that the new name better reflects who we are and our products.”
