JACKSON, MICH. — Dawn Food Products, Inc. announced it will close its Ossian/Fort Wayne, Ind., manufacturing facility on June 30. The facility, which primarily makes donuts, employs 59.

According to Dawn, the decision to close the facility will enable the company to "align resources to best meet Dawn’s customer plans, address expiration of leases, optimize and reduce shipping costs and better manage other costs throughout Dawn."

"Our first concern is to ensure all our team members receive the support and resources they need to move forward," said Partha Kundu, senior vice-president of operations for U.S. Bakery Products. "Wherever possible, local team members will also be considered for open positions in other Dawn facilities."

The company will continue to operate 12 manufacturing facilities in the United States and four more in other countries.
