SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Eric Sattler has been named vice-president of finance and interim chief financial officer at The Penn Traffic Co., effective Sept. 18. He will succeed Tod A. Nestor, senior vice-president and chief financial officer, who will resign to join New York-based Fairway Market as c.f.o. Penn Traffic has begun a search for a permanent c.f.o.

Mr. Sattler has more than 20 years of financial, accounting, operational and general management experience. He has been Penn Traffic’s controller since 2005, and he has held various other senior finance positions at the company since 1993.

He received a bachelor’s degree in management science from the State University of New York at Geneseo and a master’s degree in finance from Syracuse University.
