MIAMI — Alberto Weisser, chairman and chief executive officer of Bunge Ltd., dedicated the Richard G. Kerwin Center in the Miami office of Bunge Latin America to honor Mr. Kerwin for his service to the company.

A well-known figure in the grain industry, Mr. Kerwin was credited by the company as "instrumental in transforming Bunge North America from primarily an export trading operation to an integrated asset-based business and in building Bunge’s global grain business."

Mr. Kerwin joined Bunge in 1969, and in 1983 was named general manager of B.N.A.’s Grain Division. In 2002, he was appointed director, World Grain, for Bunge Global Markets. An injury in 2006 led Mr. Kerwin to take an early retirement. He has since recovered and is living with his wife, Anita, in St. Louis. The Kerwin Center will be used for Bunge global meetings and as a training center.
