DALLAS — Herman L. Glover Jr., a longtime employee of Cain Food Industries, Inc., died May 20. He was 74 years old.

Mr. Glover started in the baking industry working for Peavy Flour Mills as a flour test baker in the 1950s. In 1966, he left Peavy to join Food Industries, where he was named manager of quality control. In 1974 he was hired by Ernie Cain to run production, test baking and quality control for the newly formed Cain Food Industries, Inc., where he worked for more than 30 years.

“His technical expertise helped Cain formulate and introduce many innovative products for the wholesale baking industry,” said Gary Cain, president of Cain Food Industries. “He developed a patent for yeast food in tablet form and contributed his knowledge to numerous bakery organizations.”

Survivors include his wife, Carole; three sons; two daughters; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
