CARSELAND, ALTA. — Cargill has reached agreement to acquire Viterra’s grain elevator facility in Carseland, effective Aug. 23. The facility is approximately 31 miles east of Calgary.

“We are excited about the inclusion of this facility into our existing Prairie grain-handling network,” said Mike Morlock, farm service group manager in southern Alberta for Cargill AgHorizons-Canada. “It represents a significant improvement for many of our regional customers in terms of its accessible location. Enhancing our partnership with growers has always been and always will be one of our highest priorities.”

The Carseland grain facility was built in 1998 and has a grain storage capacity of 35,300 tonnes with a 112-railcar loading capability.
