CHICAGO — Dan Herzog has been promoted to vice-president of corporate compliance of food safety at Gonnella Baking Co.

Mr. Herzog joined Gonnella in 1987 and has since risen through the ranks of the company’s frozen products division, most recently working as the company’s director of quality and purchasing. In his new role, he will lead the quality control management team in food product safety and regulatory matters for both the company’s fresh baked bread and frozen dough products.
