DECATUR, ILL. – Archer Daniels Midland Co. will expand three grain facilities -- two in Missouri and one in Illinois -- to accommodate regional farmers’ increased production. The combined storage capacity of the facilities will expand by nearly 1.7 million bus. The expansion should enhance corn drying capabilities and reduce truck unloading times.

Storage capacity will triple at ADM elevators in Novelty, Mo., and Center, Mo., while a barge loading terminal in Quincy, Ill, will add grain storage and improve receiving efficiencies. Construction should begin this spring once permitting is in place and should be completed in time for the 2011 fall harvest. Crops received at the expanded facilities will help supply ADM’s soybean processing operations in Quincy and Mexico, Mo., as well as ADM’s barge loading terminals in St. Louis and Quincy.
