SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. — Stabilized rice bran maker and distributor NutraCea sustained a loss of $15,668,000 in the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2010, which compared with a loss of $32,095,000 in fiscal 2009. Net sales fell 5% to $31,631,000. NutraCea said the decline in revenues reflected the divestiture of non-core businesses, including the sale of the company’s nutraceutical distribution business, its infant cereal product line and its equine brands products. A $1 million increase in the bio-refining segment partially offset the revenue reduction.
