WASHINGTON — Rebecca Bratter has been promoted to vice-president of international operations at the U.S. Grains Council. Ms. Bratter previously was director of trade development. In her new role she will provide leadership and executive oversight to implement a unified mission and vision across the Council’s global operations.

“The creation of this position strengthens the direction of the Council’s international programs at a time of unprecedented change in global trade and demand,” said Thomas C. Dorr, president and chief executive officer of the U.S.G.C.

Ms. Bratter joined the U.S.G.C. in September 2010 from the U.S. Wheat Associates, where she was the director of trade policy and government. Prior to her position at U.S. Wheat, she held various roles at The Nature Conservancy, Private Agencies Collaborating Together, Family Health International, and Management Health International. From 1997-2006, she was director of international programs for the American Forest and Paper Association and the Wood Products International Group.

“Rebecca’s extensive knowledge and experience in global trade negotiations along with her expertise of agricultural biotechnology and trade policy issues makes her a good fit for this position,” said Terry Vinduska, U.S.G.C. chairman representing Council member Kansas Corn Commission. “We are pleased she has accepted the position.”
