DECATUR, ILL. — Archer Daniels Midland Co. is expanding its grain elevator in Labelle, Mo., a move that will triple the facility’s storage capacity. The expansion will include construction of a 720,000-bu capacity grain storage bin, a new receiving pit, load out, 140,000-bu wet storage bin and a commercial corn dryer.

“ADM is expanding our grain storage and transportation capabilities in this area to meet regional growers’ need for larger, more efficient grain elevators that offer corn drying and a wide range of services and marketing options for crops,” said Joe Taets, president of ADM Grain.

ADM said it already has begun construction on the expansion and some portions of the project should be completed in time for the 2011 harvest.

The ADM facility in Labelle purchases corn, soybeans and wheat from local growers to supply local and export markets.
