WASHINGTON — Eric Greitens, a Navy SEAL, Rhodes Scholar and a recognized humanitarian leader, has been named keynote speaker for the A.T.B.I. breakfast during the annual meeting of the American Bakers Association.

The breakfast, sponsored by the Allied Trades of the Baking Industry, annually is a highlight of the A.B.A. meeting, to be held this year April 14-18 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, Scottsdale, Ariz.

“A.B.A. is tremendously excited for this year’s A.T.B.I. leadership speaker,” said Robb MacKie, president and chief executive officer of the A.B.A. “Eric has an incredible story to share and a record of accomplishment that belies his years. He has led teams through the hardest military training in the world, created hope in some of the world’s most dire circumstances and inspired wounded veterans to serve again in their local communities and as ambassadors around the world.”

Mr. Greitens’ military service included four deployments in Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa and Southeast Asia. He was commander of a joint special operations tank unit, commander of a Mark V Special Operations Craft Detachment and commander of an al Qaeda targeting cell.

More recently, Mr. Greitens is a best-selling author, athlete and founder of a group urging post-9/11 veterans to “rebuild a sense of purpose” through community service.
