Helen Matthaei, wife of Roman Meal chairman, dies

TACOMA, WASH. — Helen Matthaei, wife of Charles W.H. Matthaei, chairman of Roman Meal Co., died June 15. She was 93 years old.

Ms. Matthaei was well known in the baking industry, having attended many American Bakers Association conventions. In addition, she was a member of the board of directors at Roman Meal.

“Helen will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all the people who knew her, particularly our people here in the Roman Meal Co. whom she loved so much,” Mr. Matthaei said.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; three sons, William and his wife, Joan; Fred and his wife, Dianne; and Richard and his wife, Marcia; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A celebration of Ms. Matthaei’s life will be held July 5 at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, Wash.
