IRVING, TEXAS — Hostess Brands, Inc. on July 19 sent an extension of the conditional federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice originally dated May 4 to its 18,500 employees, and Hostess employee union representatives. The notices inform them that certain events may occur within the next 45 days that could lead Hostess to sell all or portions of its business and/or wind down its operations and liquidate if the company is unsuccessful in its restructuring efforts. Hostess said its goal “remains firmly fixed on emerging from bankruptcy as a stable company with a strong future.” Hostess and its unions were expected to meet in court July 20 to show they are making progress.
