Stewart Systems has developed and patented a new design of conveyorized oven transport chain that requires no external lubrication. The chain uses self-lubricating, deep-groove precision ball bearings that are constructed using ceramic balls and proprietary stainless steel races with high-temperature heat stabilization and hardness. The bearings use a graphite solid lubricant that provides an extremely low coefficient of friction inside the bearings. The solid lubricant is rated NSF H1. This development provides significant reductions in operating and maintenance costs for conveyorized ovens. It also improves a bakery’s green footprint by reducing the use of lubricants in plant operations.
