Schlafer succeeds Maass at NAMA helm

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Greg Schlafer, vice-president of sales, Bakeries and Foodservice, General Mills, Inc., Minneapolis, has been elected chairman of the North American Millers’ Association. The group met for its annual meeting Oct. 25-28 at The Grove Park Inn in Asheville.

As chairman, Mr. Schlafer succeeds Paul T. Maass, president of the Commercial Foods Division of ConAgra Foods, Inc., who completed a two-year term as chairman. Elected vice-chairman of NAMA was James M. Meyer, president of Italgrani USA, St. Louis.

Mr. Schlafer, who was NAMA vice-chairman from 2010-12, has been on the group’s board since 2005 and Executive Committee since 2009. Additionally, he serves on the NAMA Finance/Budget Committee and the Ad Hoc Committee on Production Data Collection.

Mr. Meyer also has been a board member since 2005 and has served on many NAMA committees. He is chairman of the Finance/Budget Committee.
