Diamond Foods hires v.p. of global operations

SAN FRANCISCO — David J. Colo has joined Diamond Foods, Inc. in the newly created position of executive vice-president of global operations and supply chain. In this role, Mr. Colo will have responsibility for global manufacturing, procurement and supply chain and report to Brian J. Driscoll, president and chief executive officer.
Mr. Colo brings more than 25 years of operations and supply chain experience to Diamond Foods. He spent seven years with ConAgra Foods in a variety of senior roles, including manufacturing, operations and food ingredients general management in the Consumer and Commercial Products Divisions. Prior to joining ConAgra Foods, Mr. Colo spent 16 years with Nestle-Purina where he held several roles with increasing responsibilities in supply chain, production, plant management, quality assurance, operations planning and general management.
He received a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness economics from Southern Illinois University.
“Dave’s deep manufacturing and supply chain experience will be invaluable to us as we seek to identify cost savings opportunities in procurement, operations and logistics and implement plans to drive organizational effectiveness throughout all of our operations,” Mr. Driscoll said.
