WASHINGTON — Dana Peterson has resigned as chief executive officer of the National Association of Wheat Growers citing “personal circumstances.” Ms. Peterson had been c.e.o. since January 2010, and before that was a longtime policy staffer at Kansas Wheat.

“I have formed a search committee to find a new c.e.o.,” said Erik Younggren, president of NAWG and a farmer from northwestern Minnesota. “In the interim, NAWG policy calls for the president of the association to serve as c.e.o., and I am fulfilling that role.”

Mr. Younggren said Ms. Peterson served the association well for three years, and thanked her for her “tireless, passionate work for the association and the nation’s wheat growers on Capitol Hill and beyond.”
