SAN DIEGO — Sunsweet Growers Inc., a marketer of prunes, specialty dried fruit products and fruit juices with more than 350 grower/members, has partnered with LC Marketing Corp. to create a Sunsweet Bakery and Ingredient Division. The new division is expected to include Sunsweet’s line of bread, cookies and pastries infused with plums, purple wheat and corn.

“We are thrilled to partner with Sunsweet to bring bakeries and consumers nutritious plums that are high in antioxidants and fiber, but low in sugar and calories,” said Lisa Cohen-Dideriksen, president of LC Marketing Corp. “LC Marketing Corp.’s mission is to provide long-term marketing and product development support to help companies grow.”

Prior to its partnership with Sunsweet Bakery, LC Marketing Corp. developed and launched Milton’s bread, a line of nutritious, gourmet bread that is available in retailers nationwide. The marketing company also played a role in the promotion of Nonni’s Biscotti.

Currently available in Costco locations throughout California and the Southwest, Sunsweet Bakery offers a variety of products, including: Purple Country Bread, Purple Swirl Bread and Purple Dinner Rolls.  The bread line features Sunsweet’s Plum Amazins, purple wheat and purple corn, along with 11 other grains. The company also offers Oatmeal Plum Walnut Cookies and Plum Walnut Breakfast Bites, both made with Plum Amazins.
