MEMPHIS, TENN. — The Kellogg Co. has idled a cereal plant in Memphis, the same facility at which the Battle Creek, Mich.-based company earlier this year announced a round of layoffs.

“It is not uncommon for our manufacturing facilities to experience fluctuation in production schedules, and as a result, our Memphis plant currently is experiencing some down time,” said Kris Charles, a spokesperson for Kellogg. “Currently, we expect the plant will be down for about three weeks.”

Ms. Charles said Kellogg makes a variety of cereals at the Memphis plant, including Apple Jacks and Froot Loops.
