Russell Bundy honored at BakingTech 2014

CHICAGO — Russell T. Bundy, founder and owner of Bundy Baking Solutions, Urbana, Ohio, has been named recipient of the Robert A. Fischer Distinguished Service Award by the American Society of Baking.

The award was presented March 3 during the A.S.B. opening session of BakingTech 2014, held at the Marriott Downtown Chicago Magnificent Mile hotel. BakingTech 2014 is being conducted March 2-5.

Established in 1999, the Robert A. Fischer Distinguished Service Award “recognizes outstanding service and leadership by an individual to the society,” according to the A.S.B. Awarded annually, the recognition is kept secret until announced.

Mr. Bundy began his career in the baking industry with Ecko/Glaco and went on to begin Bundy Baking Solutions and its six family brands. He has been a part of the A.S.B., the Bakery Equipment Manufacturers Association and the American Bakers Association.

He also has created the Bundy Baking Museum, which displays signs, bakery equipment, memorabilia, containers and advertisements from bakeries in a restored 19th century mill at Bundy Baking Solutions’ Urbana headquarters.
