It was a great honor for the American Society of Baking to induct two individuals and a family into the Baking Hall of Fame during BakingTech in Chicago on March 3, 2014. This year’s Inductees were Donald R. Shaffer — the founder of Shaffer Manufacturing Corp., John Watson of the Watson Food Co. and the Turano family — Eugenio, Giancarlo, Mariano, Renato and Umberto with Turano Baking Co. Family members, company officials and their peers joined in celebrating the Inductees’ numerous contributions to the worldwide baking industry.

The American Society of Baking is proud to have the opportunity to recognize the achievements of the many women and men that have shaped the industry we love. Their lasting legacy is on display at the Baking Hall of Fame, which is housed at the AIB International in Manhattan, Kas., as well as at the Bundy Baking Industry Museum in Urbana, Ohio.

There are many more baking industry legends who have yet to be inducted into the Baking Hall of Fame. Please visit the A.S.B. web site at www.asbe.org and submit a nomination for a family member, colleague or friend for consideration for induction in the 2015 Baking Hall of Fame.
