BENSENVILLE, ILL. — An on-line auction is under way for the remaining assets of Hostess Brands’ Schiller Park, Ill., facility. The auction consists of baking equipment, packaging machinery, support equipment and bulk storage.

The on-line auction is taking place at www.aaronauctions.com/Auction/HostessAuction#, and will last through Jan. 29. Individuals interested in any of the assets will be able to take part in an onsite inspection of all the equipment on Monday, Jan. 26, at 9555 Soreng Ave. Schiller Park, Ill., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Anyone who is looking for top-quality equipment at an affordable price point should check out what we have to offer,” said Erik Eichert, a spokesperson with Aaron Auctions. “Remember, we’re talking about a company that has been in the baking business for 75 years. In the food industry, you don’t get to that ripe old age without having the right equipment at your disposal.”

The Hostess Brands auction will run the gamut from ovens, washers, mixers and coolers to kettles, conveyers, flour hoppers and injection tables. Also available are more than 3,000 baking pans that were used to bake the Hostess Twinkies, Cupcake and Ho Hos products.

From a packaging equipment perspective, the auction includes Doboy wrappers and Goring Kerr metal detectors. The auction also includes support equipment such as air compressors, cooling tanks, water chillers and boilers. Finally, the auction lots include bulk storage silos and tanks.

Hostess closed the facility last year, citing its need “to enhance its production and distribution capabilities and efficiencies.”
