The new facility will house warehouse, distribution and manufacturing operations for Maplehurst’s donut production.

NASHVILLE — Maplehurst Bakeries, L.L.C., a division of Weston Foods, announced it will invest $102.8 million to build and equip a new 173,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Lebanon, Tenn. The new facility, which is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2016, will house warehouse, distribution and manufacturing operations for Maplehurst’s donut production.

Founded in 1967, Maplehurst Bakeries makes frozen bakery products, including donuts, pies, cupcakes, cake, rye bread, sweet goods and gluten-free baked goods, for in-store and food service bakeries. With products sold in North American grocery retailers, supermarket chains and food service outlets, the company operates facilities in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, New Hampshire, New York, Tennessee and Washington. Maplehurst Bakeries has more than 1,100 employees across the United States, including more than 105 full-time employees in Tennessee.

Weston Foods recently invested more than $77 million to renovate and equip an 180,000-square-foot facility in Lebanon, Ind. The facility will house the company’s warehouse, distribution and manufacturing operations for its cake and cupcake products.
