GRANDVIEW, MO. — Corbion hosted volunteers from Flowers Baking Co. of Lenexa, Lenexa, Kas., BEMA, and Sosland Publishing to pack holiday meal kits for Harvesters Community Food Network in the Kansas City area on Oct. 21.

More than 150 people packed boxes assembly-line style in the parking lot of Corbion’s Grandview location.  In the course of four hours, the group packed 8,664 boxes — including all the non-perishable traditional holiday fare — enough to supply 43,320 complete meals.

Over the past six years, Corbion has provided more than a quarter of a million meals to families in the Kansas City area by supporting the local food network.

“We were grateful that Corbion invited us to help pack these holiday meals for Harvesters Food Bank this year,” said Kerwin Brown, president and chief executive officer of BEMA. “We’re excited to see how all our members give back to their communities during this holiday season.”
