Delta gluten-free pretzels and almonds
Delta will now offer Squirrel Brand almonds and gluten-free Pretzel Perfection Olive Oil and Sea Salt Pretzels.

ATLANTA — Delta Air Lines, Inc. is switching up its on-board snacking options once again, announcing plans to begin offering three new gluten-free options beginning in June. The new products are Squirrel Brand almonds, Pretzel Perfection Olive Oil and Sea Salt Pretzels, and Kind Healthy Grains Oats and Honey with Toasted Coconut bars. The airline said it will continue to offer its signature Biscoff cookies.

Last December Delta stopped serving its Delta Air Lines-branded peanuts and pretzels and instead began offering larger portions and more variety, including Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels, Squirrel Brand Honey Roasted peanuts and NatureBox Apple Cinnamon Yogurt Bars.

Now, the airline will attempt to cater to health-conscious consumers and those with dietary restrictions.

Delta is also offering Kind Healthy Grains Oats and Honey with Toasted Coconut bars.

“Knowing our customers are mindful about how they fuel their bodies when they travel, we’re pleased to offer a new selection of snacks, inclusive of healthy options,” said Allison Ausband, Delta’s senior vice-president of in-flight service. “With 180 million customers a year, we want to keep the variety going onboard Delta.”

Delta’s complimentary snacks will be available on all flights over 250 miles. Customers on flights within North America — ranging from 251 to 599 miles — can choose between the signature Biscoff cookies or Pretzel Perfection pretzels. Additionally, customers on flights over 600 miles will have the option to choose between all four snack options.

The refresh is part of the airline’s commitment to offer rotating food and beverage options to increase choice and variety for even the most seasoned travelers.
