BURLEY, IDAHO — McCain Foods USA, a business unit of McCain Foods, will invest $200 million to expand its french fry manufacturing plant in Burley. The expansion is expected to add approximately 180 jobs.

This past December, McCain Foods said it was evaluating which of its plants to expand. When the project is completed, it is expected to add more than 400 million lbs of capacity to the Burley facility.

McCain earlier announced investment plans for its specialty potato capacity in Plover, Wis., and in June detailed plans to invest $65 million in its facility in Florenceville, New Brunswick, increasing its capacity there by more than 100 million lbs of specialty potato products.

McCain Foods is the world’s largest manufacturer of frozen potato products, employing approximately 20,000 and operating 47 production facilities on six continents. A privately-owned company based in Canada, McCain generates annual sales in excess of C$8.5 billion.
