NAMPA, IDAHO — Franz Family Bakery, one of the largest family-owned baking companies in the United States, is adding some space at its location in Nampa.

According to an Oct. 11 article in the Idaho Press-Tribune, Franz is adding 17,000 square feet to accommodate a new outlet store and extra shipping and warehouse space.

Rob Robinson, general manager of the Nampa bakery, told the Idaho Press-Tribune that the new outlet will make it easier for consumers to access the store. The Franz outlet sells many of the company’s products, including donuts, organic bread, jams and spreads.

Meanwhile, the additional shipping and warehouse space is expected to increase efficiency at the location by doubling the number of trucks that can load the bakery’s products, Mr. Robinson said.

Founded in 1906 as United States Bakery by Engelbert Franz, Franz Family Bakery now operates eight bread and cake plants in Anchorage, Alaska.; Nampa; Billings, Mont.; Portland and Springfield, Ore.; and Seattle (2) and Spokane Valley, Wash.
