WESTCHESTER, ILL. — Ingredion, Inc. has partnered with The Hatchery Chicago, a non-profit food business incubator, as part of the Ingredion for Emerging Business initiative.

The Hatchery Chicago seeks to enable food and beverage entrepreneurs to build and grow successful business through three areas of need: access to production space, financing and resources. The company recently broke ground on a 67,000-square-foot facility in Chicago that will house between 75 and 100 food entrepreneurs.

“The recipe for success involves understanding every ingredient that goes into building a sustainable business,” said Natalie Shmulik, chief executive officer of The Hatchery Chicago. “Our goal at The Hatchery Chicago is to provide entrepreneurs with all the resources they need to best navigate the food and beverage industry. We are excited to be partnering with industry leader and Chicagoland’s own, Ingredion. By partnering with Ingredion, we will be able to better serve our network of entrepreneurs, who will greatly benefit from the company’s longstanding knowledge of on-trend ingredients, product and formulation development and a long history of working with smaller companies.”

Ingredion’s partnership with The Hatchery Chicago will connect Ingredion to the local food and beverage start-up community, the company said, as well as help empower entrepreneurs with Ingredion’s ingredient solutions, food and beverage product development knowledge, market insights and new Emerging Business e-commerce platform. Ingredion will work with The Hatchery Chicago to offer classes, webinars and a mentorship program to Chicago-area entrepreneurs.
