Subway spicing up menu

MILFORD, CONN. — More than 10 years after its initial introduction and 6 years after its last run as a limited-time offering, jalapeño cheese bread will be back at Subway restaurants next year. Beginning Jan. 1, Subway will launch a new version of the bread with a reformulated recipe. The bread will be available nationwide for a six- to eight-week promotion period, at which point the quick-service restaurant chain will determine whether to make it a permanent menu item. “Our new jalapeño cheese bread is our answer to requests for bread that is packed with bold flavor,” said Mark Christiano, worldwide baking specialist for Subway. “We are always looking to keep up with our customers’ evolving tastes.” Subway currently offers nine flavors of bread, including garlic bread, which was introduced in September.
