La Boulange opens all-day menu concept

SAN FRANCISCO — La Boulange has expanded beyond San Francisco, opening its first restaurant outside of the city. The new restaurant in Los Angeles also is a first for La Boulange in another way, offering a new, all-day menu concept. Inspired by La Boulange’s rustic bakery and cafe roots, the new all-day menu offers breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“Since opening our first bakery, Boulangerie, in San Francisco in 1999, our vision has always been to share our passion for incredible food in a great atmosphere with as many people as possible,” said Pascal Rigo, founder of La Boulange. “Having the opportunity to bring that passion to the vibrant Los Angeles food scene is incredible and a natural next step for the La Boulange brand.”
La Boulange said the new menu builds on many of the traditional and popular dishes that have been served in the brand’s San Francisco cafes for many years, using local California-sourced ingredients wherever possible. Menu items include omelets, scrambles, house-made granola, yogurt, open-faced sandwiches and build-your-own burgers made with grass-fed beef. The food may be paired with a variety of beverages, including coffee, wine, beer, house-made specialty cocktails and milkshakes.
Since its founding in 1996, La Boulange Cafe & Bakery has expanded to 22 artisan cafes in San Francisco. Seattle-based Starbucks Corp. acquired the La Boulange bakery brand in 2012. At that time, Starbucks committed to accelerating the expansion of La Boulange food within Starbucks retail stores, in addition to further building a differentiated brand and customer experience in the premium retail bakery cafe category.
