CANTON, MASS. — Dunkin’ Donuts has signed a master franchise agreement with M&D Restaurant Development GmbH to begin developing Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Austria, with the initial focus on Vienna. The agreement calls for 25 restaurants throughout Austria over the next five years. The leaders of the franchise group have plenty of retail and business experience in Austria.

“Austria has a rich and vibrant coffeehouse culture, so we are very excited to announce our entry into the country with Dunkin’ Donuts,” said Paul Twohig, president of Dunkin’ Donuts U.S. and Canada, and Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Europe and Latin America. “Our new master franchisee, M&D Restaurant Development GmbH, has a leadership team with a strong background in the retail industry. We look forward to partnering with them as we develop the Dunkin’ Donuts brand across Austria in the years ahead.”

Dunkin’ Donuts has locations in 33 countries around the world, continuing its international expansion from 2014. Throughout the year, the restaurant company has opened stores in the United Kingdom, Sweden and Denmark and announced its plans to open restaurants in Finland.

The Austrian Dunkin’ Donuts will feature the brand's wide range of hot and cold coffees, espresso-based beverages, teas, Coolatta frozen drinks, bagels, muffins, croissants, donuts, sandwiches and wraps, as well as regional menu items.
