TIANJIN, CHINA — Archer Daniels Midland Co. on Nov. 12 held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the sweetener-manufacturing portion of its integrated food manufacturing complex in Tianjin. When complete next year, ADM’s first wholly owned food ingredient production facility in China also will produce soluble fiber.

The Tianjin facility has access to rail and water transportation and to raw material supplies, said Ismael Roig, vice-president and president, Asia-Pacific, for Chicago-based ADM. It also is near urban demand centers and will help ADM serve the needs of customers in China and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
