Quaker Oats debuts breakfast innovations

CHICAGO — Quaker Oats, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, Inc., is rolling out four new breakfast items: 3-minute steel cut oats, super grains oatmeal blend, oatmeal with protein, and instant oatmeal with 50% less sugar. The 3-minute steel cut oats come in two flavors: blueberries and cranberries, and brown sugar and cinnamon. Quaker Oats super grains contain a blend of oats, wheat, barley, rye, quinoa and flax. Super grains come in two flavors: banana walnut and maple pecan raisin. The new selection of oatmeal with protein contains 10 grams of protein and 40 grams of whole grains per serving. Protein oatmeal is available in banana nut and cranberry almond. Quaker Oats instant oatmeal with 50% less sugar contains no artificial sweeteners and instead uses stevia. It is available in cinnamon pecan and apple walnut flavors. “We are dedicated to delivering the power of the oat to our consumers through new and delicious products that address their varied lifestyle needs,” said Joe Silverman, senior marketing director for Quaker Oats. “Whether families are looking for a wholesome and delicious start to their day, specific benefits like more protein or just a fast, convenient and filling breakfast, Quaker has a solution.” Quaker Oats new breakfast innovations will be available nationwide at select mass merchandise and grocery stores.

belVita announces biscuit offerings

EAST HANOVER, N.J. — belVita is introducing mini breakfast biscuits. The biscuit bites are available in two flavors: chocolate and mixed berry. Each serving of biscuit bites contains 230 calories, 20 grams of whole grains, and 4 grams of fiber. belVita bites are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.69 per box.

Lance introduces seasonal cookie sandwiches

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Lance is announcing limited-edition seasonal favorite cookie sandwiches. The three flavor varieties include: chocolate with mint filling, cookies with pumpkin cheesecake filling, and sprinkled sugar cookies with sweet crème filling. “Lance is making this holiday season an exciting milestone for the brand with its first ever seasonal product launch,” said Tom Ingram, senior brand director, bakery at Snyder’s-Lance, Inc. “We’ve paired our traditional cookies, like Nekot, with the season’s most popular flavors that our consumers know and love to help them get into the holiday spirit.” Lance seasonal favorites are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $2.99 for a 6-count box.

Post Foods launches Honey Bunches of Oats whole grain cereals

PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Post Foods is releasing two new varieties of Honey Bunches of Oats: whole grain honey crunch and vanilla. Both varieties provide 33 grams of whole grains, 4 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein per serving. Post Foods Honey Bunches of Oats products are available nationwide.

Mamma Chia debuts granola clusters

CARLSBAD, CALIF. — Mamma Chia is introducing granola clusters. The clusters contain chia seeds, whole rolled oats, blueberries, toasted nuts, honey and molasses. Each serving contains 10 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber. The clusters are free of gluten, dairy and soy. Mamma Chia clusters are available in three flavors: blueberry, vanilla almond and cinnamon pecan.

Fiber One releases better-for-you dessert options

MINNEAPOLIS — Fiber One is introducing dessert options, including 90-calorie mint fudge brownies, protein cookies and crème, and chocolate chip crunch cookies. The mint fudge brownies are sold for a suggested retail price of $3.89. Protein cookies and crème offers 6 grams of protein and 140 calories per bar for a suggested retail price of $4.19. The chocolate chip crunch cookies are only 120 calories per cookie for a suggested retail price of $3.29.

Stacy’s Snacks debuts fire-roasted jalapeño pita chips

PLANO, TEXAS — Stacy’s Snacks is debuting jalapeño pita chips. Pita chips include jalapeños and red peppers, which are baked into the dough. Stacy’s Snacks jalapeño pita chips are available in 7.33-oz bags for a suggested retail price of $3.99.
