New pastry concept offers two flavors in single filling

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – Lantmännen Unibake plans to feature its Double Delights, a pastry concept that combines two flavors into a single filling, during the Anuga trade show, a food fair for the retail trade and the food service and catering market set for Oct. 5-9 in Cologne, Germany.

Double Delights should be launched in the United States in the first quarter of 2014. The products come in five flavor combinations: white chocolate and raspberry, white and dark chocolate, dark chocolate and cherry, dark chocolate and vanilla cream, and vanilla cream and strawberry.

“Double Delights pastries are ideal for on-the-go snack occasions since they offer the busy consumer a tasty and satisfying solution they won’t grow tired of,” said Filip Van Laere, group category manager for Copenhagen-based Lantmännen Unibake. “With five great combinations there’s even a different option for every day of the working week.

“We’ve kept chocolate at the heart of the range since research shows it remains a hugely popular and key flavor in the bakery market. These pastries tap into this trend but also provide an innovative twist that can give pastry retailers an edge of the competition.”
