Clif Kit’s Organic expands gluten-free line
EMERYVILLE, CALIF. — Clif Kit’s Organic is debuting a snack bar produced with fruit and seeds. Kit’s Organic Fruit + Seeds snack bars contain zero grams of trans fat, and no partially-hydrogenated oils, hig- fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, or synthetic preserves. In addition, the ingredients are not bioengineered and are free from gluten, soy, and dairy. At only 200 calories or less, the bars come in four flavors: apricot sesame seed, cherry pumpkin seed, lemon vanilla chia seed, and coconut sesame seed. The bars are available at natural food stores for a suggested retail price of $1.59 per bar.
Pirate’s Booty introduces macaroni and cheese
PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Pirate’s Booty, a business unit of B&G Foods, is debuting macaroni and cheese products. Made with organic wheat pasta, the macaroni and cheese contains no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives and 0 grams of trans fats. The pasta product is available in four varieties: shell-shaped aged white cheddar, elbow-shaped aged white cheddar, mild cheddar, and pirate-themed shaped aged white cheddar. Pirate’s Booty macaroni and cheese is available nationwide.
Doritos Jacked unveils mystery flavors
PLANO, TEXAS — Doritos, a brand from PepsiCo Inc.’s Frito-Lay division, is rolling out three new mystery flavors for consumers to try and then vote for the top flavor to bring back in the fall. Doritos Jacked are tortilla chips that pack in a twist of spice or tanginess. The new Doritos Jacked mystery flavors will be available in 10-oz bags for $4.29 or 3.375-oz bags for $1.49.
Kind announces extension of snack bar varieties
NEW YORK — Kind Healthy Snacks is introducing an extension of its nuts and spices and healthy grains clusters lines. The new additions to the nuts and spices line are dark chocolate mocha almond and caramel almond and sea salt. The additions contain 5 grams of sugar or less with no artificial ingredients. Flavors debuting for the health grains clusters lineup include fruit and nut, banana nut, and raspberry with chia seeds. The three additions all include a blend of gluten-free oats, millet, quinoa, amaranth, and buckwheat, which packs in a full serving of whole grains.
Weight Watchers sweetens the deal with brownie bites
JACKSON, MICH. — Weight Watchers Sweet Baked Goods, a business unit of Dawn Food Products, is announcing the addition of mint chocolate brownies to the baked goods lineup. The chocolate brownie is layered with mint chocolate ganache and coated with chocolate. The new brownie joins other sweet baked good varieties such as peanut butter brownies, carrot crème cakes, coffee cakes, cookies, and muffins. The mint chocolate brownie and other sweet baked good products are available nationwide for a suggested retail price starting at $3.29.
Twistos creates baked snack bites
PLANO, TEXAS — Twistos, a business unit of PepsiCo, Inc., is adding a twist to traditional baked snacks. The new snack bites are available in bruschetta, Parmesan and garlic, and Asiago flavors. Twistos baked snack bites are available at stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $2.79 per 5.3-oz bag.
Lay’s expands market offerings of air-popped crisps
PLANO, TEXAS — Lay’s, a brand from PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division, is distributing air-popped crisps to more markets nationwide and rolling out a new flavor. The new salt and vinegar flavor will add to the previous selection of original, barbeque, and sour cream and onion. “Lay’s Air Pops crisps are perfect for consumers who are looking for an alternative to regular potato chips that doesn’t compromise on flavor,” said Ram Krishnan, vice-president of marketing for Frito-Lay North America. “By expanding distribution to California and the Pacific Northwest, we’re excited to introduce this new snack option to an even broader audience.” Lay’s Air Pops are available at select grocery stores in 3-oz bags for a suggested retail price of $2.99.
Mrs. Fields launches cookie products in grocery stores
RICHMOND, VA. — Mrs. Fields Famous Brands and Interbake Foods L.L.C. are announcing that Nibblers Cookies will now be available in grocery stores. The snack-size cookies are available in varieties including milk chocolate chip, peanut butter, and double chocolate fudge. Fifteen cookies are packaged in each foil-wrapped tray.
Thomas’ English Muffins debuts new seasonal flavors
HORSHAM, PA. — The Thomas’ brand is launching new seasonal muffin varieties for 2014. Through July, cinnamon vanilla English muffins and maple french toast bagels will be offered. Apple pie English muffins and bagels will be available from July to October and then cranberry English muffin and bagels will be offered for the remainder of the year. The limited time offerings are available nationwide at mass retail stores for a suggested retail price between $3.99 and $4.69.
