EUGENE, ORE. — Attune Foods, makers of Uncle Sam, a Non-GMO Project Verified fiber and protein cereal brand, has received clearance to use the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check mark on two cereals: Uncle Sam Original Wheat Berry Flakes and Uncle Sam Skinner’s Raisin Bran.

Uncle Sam is a 107-year-old brand most recognized for its high-fiber cereal options that are made from simple ingredients. The A.H.A. certified the two cereals after a review process to ensure the products met all nutritional guidelines. The Original Wheat Berry Flakes are made from four simple ingredients and offer 10 grams of fiber and 8 grams of protein per serving, and the Skinner’s Raisin Bran has 6 grams of fiber and 7 grams of protein per serving.

“We are honored to receive such a highly coveted certification by the American Heart Association, as we pride ourselves on providing wholesome cereals that are simple and non-G.M.O.,” said Rob Goluba, director of marketing for Attune Foods. “For those utilizing the New Year as an opportunity to get back on track with their health and nutrition goals, we want Uncle Sam to be the go-to choice that jump starts the mornings and nutritiously powers them throughout the day.”
