BURBANK, CALIF. – When dining at Disney, park-goers with food allergies now have safe snack options. Disney has teamed up with Way Better Snacks, Enjoy Life Foods, WOW Baking Co. and Ocean Spray to offer Disney park-goers better-for-you and allergen-free snacks.

The line of products, called Snacks with Character, offers vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and egg-free snacks. (Click to see a slideshow of the Snacks with Character line)

Each Snacks with Character product displays the allergen information prominently on the front of the package and is emblazoned with a Disney character like Mickey Mouse, Goofy or Donald Duck.

“Some of our favorite Disney pals grace the packaging, making these an especially fun option for kids with allergies who have had to go without a Mickey-bedecked snack in previous visits,” the Disney blog said.

Current options include Lemon Burst Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies made by WOW Baking Co.; RiceMilk Choco Bars, Dark Chocolate Bars, Chocolate Sunseed Bars, Cinnamon Bun Bars, Chocolate    Chip Crunchy Cookies, Sugar Crispy Crunch Cookies, and Mountain Mambo Seed & Fruit Mixes made by Enjoy Life Foods; and Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips and Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips made by Way Better Snacks. Disney said the Ocean Spray products, including a cranberry mix, will debut later this year.

“We listened to guests who said they wanted options when it comes to snacks at Disney Parks,” said Patrice Guy, merchandiser with Disney Theme Park Merchandise. “The Snacks with Character line was developed in collaboration with Merchandise Product Development, Food and Beverage Health and Wellness, Disney Design Group, and various suppliers in this field. We hope guests will enjoy these new tasty treats that are fun to share.”

Consumers may find Snacks with Character at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Walt Disney World Resorts, Disney Cruise Line Ships, and at Disney’s Resort & Spa, Aulani.
