KANSAS CITY — Mashups are having a moment at retail.

Bimbo Bakeries USA is debuting a breakfast mashup with its new Thomas’ Bacon Buttermilk Pancake English Muffins. The limited edition flavor combines the flavors of buttermilk pancakes with salty bacon to create a sweet and salty experience.

"We wanted to unveil one of our boldest flavors to date,” said Jon Silvon, senior marketing director of Thomas' products. “Our fans can take their celebration to a whole new level with the ultimate breakfast mashup — the new Bacon Buttermilk Pancake English Muffin. Thomas' continued innovation and introduction of new and exciting flavors — many of which have become instant fan-favorites — is why the Nooks & Crannies English Muffin continues to be a beloved breakfast staple in American households decade after decade."

Pamela’s Products is combining caffeine and snacks with its new Ambition Bars. The certified gluten-free, grain-free and vegan snack bars are infused with either cold brew coffee, black tea or green tea and contain 70 mg of caffeine. The bars are U.S.D.A. certified organic, non-G.M.O. and kosher and are available in five varieties: Cold Brew Chocolate, Salted Caramel Latte, Espresso Myself, Masala Chai and Matcha Happiness.

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. is combining croissants and tortillas with its new Crotilla, a mashup of flour tortilla and flaky croissant.
