AB Mauri creates sales team for Canada

ST. LOUIS — AB Mauri North America has selected a Canadian-based sales team to provide customers with ingredients along with service and technical support. Frederic Elias, who was promoted to director of sales, Canada, will lead the team. Paul Carter was hired as territory account manager and will be based in Ontario.

“We are excited to be growing our sales team and provide Canadian customers quality ingredients, including both dry and fresh Fleischmann’s Yeast options coast to coast,” said Gregory Strauss, senior vice-president of sales at St. Louis-based AB Mauri North America.

Mr. Elias, who has been with AB Mauri for seven years, will be responsible for key accounts and will focus on fostering relationships with new Canadian-based customers. He has spent 22 years in the baking industry, including seven years in operations and 15 years in sales. Mr. Elias previously worked with Puratos, Lallemand, Inc. and Weston Foods Canada.

Mr. Carter joined AB Mauri on Aug. 12. He has more than 25 years of experience in sales and technical development within the food industry. Most recently he was technical sales manager for Apex Ingredients Inc. in Barrie, Ont. Mr. Carter has worked within technical sales for such companies as The Original Cakerie, Loretta Foods Ltd. and Kerry Ingredients. He studied baking science at both AIB International in Manhattan, Kas., and George Brown College in Toronto.
