A.S.B. appoints new officers, adds to executive board

CHICAGO — Anthony Turano of Turano Baking Co., Berwyn, Ill., took over March 4 as the chairman of the American Society of Baking for 2014-15. The A.S.B. held its BakingTech 2014 event from March 2-4 in Chicago.

Other officers include Ramon Rivera of Bimbo Bakeries USA, Horsham, Pa., as first vice-chairman; Steve Berne of Baking & Snack and Sosland Publishing Co., Kansas City, as second vice-chairman; Mario Samoza of Pan Pepin, Inc., Bayamon, Puerto Rico, as third vice-chairman; and Lin Carson of Dave’s Killer Bread, Zanesville, Ohio, as secretary-treasurer.

Joining the executive board are Jason Ward of AMF Bakery Systems, Richmond, Va.; Jack Lewis III of Lewis Bakeries, Evansville, Ind.; and Bob Gee II of Cloverhill Bakery, Chicago.
