MILFORD, CONN. – Suzanne Greco, who began working for the Subway restaurant chain in 1973, has been named president of the company, Subway said June 25. Ms. Greco will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company and will continue to report directly to Fred DeLuca, founder and chief executive officer.

“Suzanne has accomplished a great deal with Subway, and I know there are many more terrific things to come,” Mr. DeLuca said. “I have always been impressed with Suzanne's relentless desire to make continuous improvements to our products and customer experience.”

Mr. DeLuca is the older brother of Ms. Greco, according to several media reports.

Ms. Greco led the research and development team at Subway for 24 years. She facilitated the creation of the Independent Purchasing Cooperative (IPC) in 1996 to handle the Subway brand’s product purchasing. In 2012 Ms. Greco began overseeing the operations department, and earlier this year she began overseeing the marketing department, too. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.

“My primary focus is to make our family business even better by making improvements wherever we can, especially at the store level where the food and in-store experience is critical to keeping our customers happy and coming back,” Ms. Greco said. “With the dedicated and seasoned management team in place, along with our active franchisee and development agent groups, I know we will be able to accomplish a lot together.”
