The Long Co. hires food safety and sanitation consultant

CHICAGO — Dean Duzik has joined The Long Co. as a food safety and sanitation consultant.

Mr. Duzik has more than 35 years’ experience in the baking industry, most recently as plant manager at Diversified Foods and Seasonings. He also has worked as plant manager at iBake Foods L.L.C., as director of operations and plant manager at Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products, and as vice-president and general manager at Interbake Foods.

“Dean understands the critical role of sanitation, food safety, product quality and continuous improvement of systems and processes and is HACCP certified,” The Long Co. said. “He successfully led two operations to achieve and maintain SQF Level III and BRC certifications utilizing cross functional teams. Having been involved in audits throughout his career, Dean brings a dual perspective from both the auditor and management viewpoint.”

He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Briar Cliff College.
