Shakeup within Atkins executive team

DENVER A new chief financial officer and a new chief customer officer have been named at The Simply Good Foods Co., Denver.

On Aug. 11, the company, which sells nutrition bars and related products mostly under the Atkins brand, said Todd Cunfer, vice-president of finance, will succeed Shaun Mara, chief administrative officer and c.f.o., who is stepping down from his position Aug. 26. Mr. Mara will remain with Simply Good Foods through Nov. 30 in an advisory role.

Jill Short, senior vice-president of sales, has been promoted to chief customer officer, effective Aug. 27. She will succeed Robert Gandert, chief customer and business development officer.

Mr. Cunfer joined Simply Good Foods in July from The Hershey Co., where he held a number of executive finance roles including, most recently, head of finance for North America, Global Supply Chain and International. Mr. Cunfer holds a master of business administration degree from The Darden School at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, and a bachelor of arts degree in finance from College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Va.

Ms. Short joined Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. in January 2008, and the company credits her with helping revive the Atkins brand. Earlier, she held sales positions at Muscle Milk, Abbott Nutrition and Kraft Foods. She is a graduate of Florida State University, Tallahassee.

Simply Good Foods was created in April with the acquisition of Atkins Nutritionals, Inc., by Conyers Park Acquisition Corp. from Roark Capital Group. Conyers was led by veteran food industry executives James M. Kilts and David J. West, who serve as chairman and executive vice-chairman of Simply Good Foods. A publicly-traded company, Simply Good Foods is listed on Nasdaq.
