JACKSON, MICH. — Richard Kirkland has been named president of LeMatic, Inc., a provider of slicing, packaging and automated systems to the baking industry. He succeeds John Hamilton, who will remain with LeMatic in an advisory capacity.

Mr. Kirkland has more than 15 years of experience in the food industry, most recently as sales director for esmo USA, an international provider of custom machine engineering, plant engineering and automation. Prior to esmo, he was a sales engineer at Lanham Machinery, and earlier he was vice-president of sales and marketing at APV Baker.

He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

“We’re very excited to bring Richard into this leadership role on the LeMatic team,” said Dale LeCrone, chief executive officer of LeMatic. “His previous experience in engineering, sales and marketing, along with his management approach, will meld seamlessly into LeMatic’s day-to-day operations and our plans for the future.”
