WASHINGTON — The preliminary national average price received by farmers for all wheat in June was $7.13 per bu, down 55c from $7.68 in May but up 43c from $6.70 in June 2012, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Agricultural Prices report.

The average price paid for winter wheat in June was $7.02 per bu, down 47c from $7.49 in May but up 47c from $6.55 in June 2012. The average price paid for durum was $8.12 per bu, up 6c from May but down 19c from $8.31 in June 2012. Spring wheat other than durum averaged $7.68 per bu, down 16c from $7.84 in May and down 10c from June 2012.

The average price paid for all rice was $15.60 a cwt, up 30c from $15.30 in May and up $1.40 from $14.20 in June 2012.

The June index of prices received by farmers for food grains was 239 compared with the 1990-92 base of 100, down 3% from 247 in May but up 7% from 224 in June 2012.

The June index of feed grains was 298, down slightly from 299 in May but up 11% from 269 in June 2012. The average price paid to farmers for corn was $7.02 per bu, up 5c from May and up 65c from $6.37 in June 2012. Farmers received an average of $11.40 a cwt for grain sorghum in June, down 10c from May but up $1.84 from $9.56 in June 2012. The average price paid for oats in June was $4.04 a bu, down 41c from $4.45 in May but up 24c from $3.80 in June 2012.

The index of June prices received for oilseeds was 260, up 2% from 256 in May and up 4% from 249 in June 2012. Farmers received an average of $15.10 a bu for soybeans in June, up 20c from $14.90 in May and up $1.20 from $13.90 in June 2012.

The June index for dairy products was 151, unchanged from May but up 21% from 125 in June 2012. The average price paid for all milk was $19.70 a cwt, unchanged from May but up $3.40 from $16.30 in June 2012.

The June poultry and egg index was 194, down 4% from 203 in May but up 22% from 159 in June 2012. The average price paid to farmers for all eggs in June was 93c, down 24c from $1.17 in May but up 2c from June 2012.
