NAMA adds head of regulatory/technical affairs

WASHINGTON — Benjamin Boroughs has joined the staff of the North American Millers’ Association as director of regulatory and technical affairs. Mr. Boroughs most recently worked in the office of Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, where he focused on issues surrounding agriculture, commerce, the environment and transportation. Earlier, Mr. Boroughs had internships with the Biotech Industry Organization and the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. James A. McCarthy, NAMA president and chief executive officer, said of Mr. Boroughs, “His strong background in agriculture and public policy made him an ideal candidate for the job and we look forward to introducing him to our membership and the industry at large.” A graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station with a bachelor of science degree in genetics, Mr. Boroughs has master’s degree in international science and technology policy from George Washington University in Washington. Mr. Boroughs grew up in rural Nebraska and Kansas.
