DAVIS, CALIF., and DES MOINES, IOWA — Arcadia Biosciences, Inc. will receive exclusive global rights to develop specified DuPont Pioneer technology for use in grain, forage, sweet and biofuel sorghum types under a collaboration announced by the two companies Nov. 21. The collaboration is designed to develop enabling technology to help manage pollen flow in sorghum, which is grown on about 100 million acres globally.

“Globally, sorghum is an important crop for food and feed and has significant potential as a highly productive biofuel source,” said Eric Rey, president and chief executive officer of Arcadia Biosciences, an agricultural technology company based in Davis. “Our agreement with DuPont Pioneer will speed the development of much-needed technologies that will create added value and improved crop performance for sorghum growers worldwide.”
